@PaulRoundy1@Andercot The multiverse is a serious hypothesis, but it’s an extravagant ontological commitment invented largely to avoid the prima facie design-like appearance. Occam still favors a purposeful selector over an infinite ensemble of mostly dead universes.
@PaulRoundy1@Andercot The real question is explanatory power. A single life-permitting universe drawn from a vast parameter space (as most physicists since Weinberg have conceded the tuning appears staggeringly improbable) is far more surprising under naturalism-without-multiverse than under theism
I’d suggest he also missed that people went protection from debasement, and want permissionless payments for very valid reasons. A network that enables that is worth something.
