@SpursVentura First off how Drob didn't make the top tier, insane depth of this franchise. Presuming these are all in their primes:
PF - Wemby $5
SF - Elliott $2
C - Robinson $4
SG - Castle $2
PG - Harper $2
@cogeco Seriously, wifi out again here in Peterborough? Any ETA? It's been reconnecting and dropping for the last hour, and your app warnings can't even seem to keep up. @cogecohelps
Certain poetic irony that the same day #2's trade is on hold because of the ongoing investigations, the best player in the world may actually be taking a discount to keep his potentially dynastic team together as long as possible. They are not the same. #PorVida
@TXForever49@NoahM23242@PolymarketHoops That's the part right there. Every other team interested was offering spare parts as a deal (since #2 was making it clear he'd only extend with LA), and DeMar was by far the best player offered by anybody, and the Raptors offered the best package, period.
@SpursNationCP This isn't news, that was the word coming out back then too. And I don't blame him at all, why would you reward the guy actively screwing the team over and trying to force his way out with a year left on his contract to the exact place he's demanding to go, for spare change? F#2.
@Cory_Hays407 Literally said he wanted his picture on the posters, the cups, the intro at the top of the show. He wanted to be Cena, the company forced him into being anti-establishment. Some of us paid attention to what he said, and this continuation rules.
@RockyUpNorth@FastbreakHoops5@MVPascal43 Not to mention in context, the Raptors offer was by far the best offer the Spurs got, given that #2 poisoned the well with his "only signing an extension with one team" demands. Hard to negotiate in good faith when the guy in question has none.
@BigLilDoug@DiscussingFilm Nope I'm with you, the movie was fine. Definitely Guardians-coded but absolutely fine as a movie. Guess the SnyderBros just expected it to be death metal or something on the soundtrack.
@JahlilWill Every bit of this. The bottom line is this inexperienced team stood up to the defending champions and took them down in 7 games on the road. Regardless of what came after that, that's a definitive series victory that gives this team plenty to build on next year and beyond.
@Jrod_SAS@SpursInteracti1 This. He's not setting down roots, he's the gunslinger coming in trying to cap off a career. And unlike the Lakers stint I wouldn't imagine he expects to be hailed as the greatest Spur ever, just one of the good ones in a long line, past and future.
@TexRants@SpursReporter That's honestly where I'm at too. If Wemby (and honestly Steph and Harper also) is good with this, roll the dice on a year. Keep the core happy and continuing to develop, but it's remarkable how good a fit LBJ could be at this stage. Embrace the insanity.
@JeffSpursfanv2@CollinReidPS In a nutshell, yes. At that point they weren't looking to launch into a rebuild, and no other team was giving up anything resembling a fair haul thanks to "will only extend with this particular team". He really loves to low-ball teams he leaves.
