After 6 of the best years, today is my last at Messari.

What a ride it’s been…

I joined as an analyst to start the research product (which at the time was @twobitidiot newsletter) and am leaving what’s become a true powerhouse.

During that time I got to be on the ground floor with the OGs @RyanWatkins_ @masonnystrom @WilsonWithiam as they kicked off their careers and transformed into some of the biggest 🧠s in the industry.

I got to launch an Enterprise product with @benhoneill thats now used by most funds, exchanges, tradfi institutions.

I got to take an idea for an for a decentralized research marketplace with @maartjebus and evolve it into the reporting machine that is Messari Protocol Services working with >100 top teams.

And I got to have a ton of fun along the way. Words cannot describe the endless gratitude I have to work in such an impassioned, fast-paced, intellectually stimulating, always on, occasionally cringe, but never boring industry full of some of the most interesting people I’ve ever encountered (with antics that most on the outside couldn’t possibly fathom.)

Where else do you get to see your bags 100x only to drop 90% and then maybe come back but only if you don’t get hacked or rugged or leverage trade it away. And to do it all with your perpetually online frens on this app or in your telegram group where you feel like the illuminati cabal moving markets but are really just another fish in the sea. I wouldn’t trade it for the world.

I also can’t imagine a better place to have been a part of this all than @MessariCrypto. From the early days we’ve had a powerful North Star to bring greater transparency to the cryptoeconomy. That’s meant upholding the highest standards of integrity, saying no to the countless cash grabs and shortcuts lurking at every corner, instead opting to do what we do best remaining viscerally focused on truth and distilling that to the crypto world.

I feel good knowing the company is in good hands with @ericturnr at the helm, new ath in sales, and a metric fuckton of energy behind providing our customers with best damn service out there.

Ultimately this was a personal decision for me realizing the time is right to put my mind to new business challenges. I’m not going anywhere. In fact, I’ll be rolling up my sleeves getting further in the trenches with onchain builders to help them grow.

As for whats next, I’ll be at ETH Denver with all you nerds and would love to catch up. I’ll still be writing about life and meaning and mindfulness and all the other things that help me stay sane. This spring I’ll be walking 500 miles alone across Spain. And I’ll be starting at [redacted] building the seal team 6 of BD teams to scale a kickass business.
