A few very obvious points on Mamdani's grocery stores:

1. The supply of the discounted groceries will run out on day 1, and every day there is a new shipment. This is basic econ 101.

2. This means only the people who are lucky enough or fast enough will get these discounted groceries. Expect to see the city ration these groceries in some other way. By income, or neighborhood or some lottery system.

3. Grocery margins are notoriously low as it is (like 2-3%). These stores will lose a bunch of money selling 30% below market, or they'll sell so little it will be insignificant.

4. There is absolutely zero chance that government bureaucrats can source these products from global supply chains as efficiently as Walmart, or Meier, or Whole Foods, whose survival depends on it. Their costs will be far higher (unless they use government bludgeon to force distributors to sell to them at lower prices).

5. It's actually an incredible triumph of capitalism that you can get a pound of bananas that were shipped to your neighborhood from Equador for like 60 cents, or fresh grapes from Chile in the dead of Midwestern winter for 2 bucks a pound, and Norwegian salmon to cook in Italian olive oil for $15 -20 bucks or so. Truly stop and think about that for a minute. It's a miracle.

The median full time hourly wage is around $31 dollars. For ONE HOUR of work, the median working American can get all of the groceries listed below, which is about 22,000 calories. They can feed themselves for 10 days (or a family of 4 for around 2 and a half days), with an hour of labor.

This is the stupidest industry for socialists to go after.

Once Ruhollah Khomeini was in power, he did unspeakable acts like:

- Ordered the 1988 mass execution of political prisoners
- Directed large-scale executions and repression of political opponents after the 1979 revolution
- Issued the 1989 fatwa ordering Muslims worldwide to kill the author of The Satanic Verses and anyone involved in its publication for alleged blasphemy
- Instituted systematic persecution of Baha’is and other religious minorities
- Enforced a theocratic system with severe punishments for dissent, women
and “moral” crimes (Sharia Law)

Zohran Mamdani is literally peddling the same lies that will lead to these same actions

The countries you hold up as proof socialism works outrank America on business freedom.

Every single one of them scores higher than the United States on how easy it is to start, run, and close a company according to the Heritage Foundation’s own index.

They have more billionaires per capita and their corporate tax rates sit lower too: Denmark and Norway at 22%, Finland at 20%, Sweden at 21.4% against roughly 25.8% here.

Sweden has also run a nationwide school voucher system since 1992 so parents can send their kids to any public or private school they want, for-profit included, and that policy came straight from Milton Friedman.

These countries fund large welfare states by taxing the middle class at high rates, and that only stays sustainable because they keep free markets that grow the pie in the first place.

So if you want a welfare state that lasts, raise business freedom to Nordic levels, keep corporate taxes competitive, expand school choice, and protect the open markets that actually generate the wealth.

Stop doing the exact opposite and expecting similar results.

🚨Ten Years After ISIS Murdered Father Jacques Hamel, the Church Chose "Coexistence"

ON THIS DAY: JULY 26, 2016 - While the West bowed, Father Jacques Hamel stood.

Ten years ago today, an 85-year-old Catholic priest was forced to his knees inside his own church by two jihadis. When he refused to submit, they slit his throat and filmed themselves shouting “Allahu Akbar.”

His dying words were not a plea for dialogue.

They were a command:

“Va-t’en, Satan!” - “Get away, Satan!”

And how does the Church answer that blood-soaked defiance a decade later?

By organizing “coexistence” ceremonies, interfaith meetings, and lectures wondering if Christians are the ones lacking understanding.

The two Muslim terrorists who stormed the church in Saint-Étienne-du-Rouvray - Adel Kermiche and Abdel Malik Petitjean - had pledged allegiance to the Islamic State.

They took nuns and an elderly couple hostage. One parishioner was seriously wounded.

Father Jacques Hamel was murdered at the altar while celebrating Mass.

So what did this beloved priest do to “provoke” Islam?

Nothing.

He had helped facilitate the donation of land next to his church so local Muslims could build a mosque. The parish hall and facilities were handed over for their use during Ramadan.

He practiced the very “dialogue,” “fraternity,” and “living together” that Church leaders now endlessly celebrate.

Did he draw Muhammad? Burn a Qur’an? Say anything “Islamophobic”?

No.

He was targeted because, according to Islamic doctrine and the ideology of his killers, non-Muslims remain legitimate targets no matter how much Christians appease them.

(Qur’an 47:4 - “When you meet the unbelievers, strike the necks.”)

Ten years later, the official response is pure institutional submission.

Saint-Étienne-du-Rouvray and the Diocese of Rouen are holding two full days of “remembrance, prayer, and fellowship” dedicated to “unity,” “vivre ensemble,” and interfaith dialogue.

🔺A silent march “retracing Father Hamel’s last journey.”
🔺An exhibition on his life.
🔺Mass celebrated by Cardinal Jean-Marc Aveline with 🔺French Prime Minister Sébastien Lecornu, former President François Hollande, and other officials in attendance.
🔺The town hall declares him a symbol of fraternity.
🔺The beatification process continues under the banner of coexistence.

And the official Vatican News outlet?

It uses the anniversary of a priest’s throat being cut at the altar to ask whether “a certain lack of understanding of others among Christians fosters mistrust and prejudice.”

Read that again.

An elderly priest is forced to his knees and slaughtered by jihadis who shouted the Islamic battle cry - and the Vatican’s contribution is to wonder if Christians are insufficiently understanding.

This is not honoring a martyr.

This is the systematic rewriting of martyrdom into a lesson in interfaith harmony.

Father Hamel’s blood is being repackaged as proof that more dialogue, more shared facilities, more friendships with the families of killers, and more self-criticism by Christians will somehow solve the problem.

No amount of coexistence ceremonies will change the doctrinal reality that produced his murder.

Father Jacques Hamel refused to kneel.

The Vatican and the French Church hierarchy are still on their knees and blaming the faithful for the mistrust.

The West, and especially the Church, must stop kneeling.
