#Girldad. Sponsorship Analytics @excelsm Whaler fan for life. USMNT is my midlife crisis. Any sarcasm, snark, gripes and views expressed are purely my own.
We had such a good crop of players destined for this World Cup. The US Soccer system, American soccer politicians, and their web of lackeys spent more time building roadblocks instead of actual pathways. Knowing this is what hurts me the most when I watch our team play.
@USSoccerColl LFG Marcus! You’re a huge part of building the culture and the knowledge. You deserve this. What a game. What an experience to see it all come together. Thrilled for you and the whole USMNT community rt now.
@realwxforecast@NjTank99 J Mesh - stick to weather (which you’re great at!) brother. You’re out if you’re depth here with your quick google search as your primary argument.
Paraguay is a legit team that beat Brazil, Argentina and Uruguayin qualifying while letting in the fewest goals per team.
@realwxforecast@NjTank99 Rankings are directional, in-game variance is high and the drop-off to truly poor teams is down in the 50s/60s (or lower) in world rankings.
Also, the style in which the US won - total domination of possession/chances, is notable. This wasn’t a grind - it was a dissection.
@EdHand89 Good episode and Joon is a talented reporter. But he fundamentally misunderstands PE, as it’s not about maximizing profits at all. It’s about maximizing your exit multiple in 5 yrs. He also didn’t explain why the Dodgers have more patient PE capital than the Sox.
@ByAndrewParker Would they though? Not sure that would change his timeline or relevance to the 2026 Red Sox. Is it worth it throwing him out there in sub 40 degree weather that’s not uncommon in Portland until Memorial Day?
@ozskier@slopefillers@mrjordanbentley It’s also pretty small for a snowmaking pond. Less than 10M gallons for sure and probably under 5M judging by the size of that guy in the pic.
@gabriel_miretti@mountaingoat27@AdamCrafton_ .Technically the “host” with the obligation to fund is the local Boston organizing committee, not the small town of Foxborough where the stadium is located. They didn’t get a vote, or sign agreements, but will be stuck with the costs. This is their chance to say “no”.
@ChuckMe92Soccer@kerrc17 Anything else is overthinking it in the same way that allowed Jesus Ferreira to be viewed as a better option than Pepi in 2022.
