@Zach_Kamran Well, we didn't need replace AR with some other ORM or a new data access layer while sharding was being rolled out. Like I said, very little had to change in the product code because the team made it work alongside ActiveRecord. That was sort of my point 😉

I think Figma is a little too quiet about its use of Ruby. It's shocking how little this effort has interrupted the product engineering team.
