Just saw the terrible news re Lloyd Cowan - after leaving UKA I hadn't seen him for a while but will always remember how kind and supportive he was to me. He contributed to so much success in British T&F and he will be missed by so many. RIP LC - will have a rum for you tonight🖤

So sorry to hear of the passing of inspirational coach Lloyd Cowan, a friend for over 40 years as part of the Haringey/New River Family as junior athletes.

I was pleased to be able to award him with the BAWA Ron Pickering Trophy for Services to Athletics in 2013.

RIP Lloyd. 🙏

If Neil was in the dictionary, it would read something like: incredibly smart and hardest working man on the planet. No ego, no bullshit and would literally do anything for anyone. A father figure to me and I will owe/miss him so much. Honoured to call him a friend. Sleep well 🖤
