Why walk away, @ABDanielleSmith?
Because the “table” is where Alberta pays the bill and Ottawa keeps the menu.
Equalization this year: $27.2 billion. Quebec takes about $14 billion.
Alberta takes $0. Has taken $0 since 1964.
That is not a cheque Alberta mails to Quebec.
It’s worse.
Ottawa vacuums the money out of Alberta paycheques, corporate tax, and GST, then spends it somewhere else and calls us ungrateful.
Fraser Institute, June 2026:
• In 2024 Alberta sent Ottawa $77 billion and got $52.5 billion back. Net: $24.5 billion in one year.
• 2026–27 projection: still about $18 billion net out.
• 2007–2027: $322 billion net from Alberta.
Four times B.C. Five times Ontario.
Everyone else is on the take.
Per Albertan that’s thousands of dollars a year walking east and never coming home.
CPP: Alberta workers paid 14.4% of the premiums and collected 10% of the cheques.
$54 billion net into a pension plan Ottawa now pretends we couldn’t run ourselves.
An Alberta plan was estimated to cut the contribution rate almost in half and save about $5 billion in year one.
EI: same pattern. We pay in more than we draw.
And the industry that generates the surplus?
Ten years of “phase out,” C-69, tanker bans, production caps — then a sudden rebrand as a “national treasure” when a referendum appears.
Treasures you can delete with a pen are not treasures.
They’re hostages.
Smith asked why walk away when we’re finally winning.
Winning is when the other side can’t take it back.
A mood in Ottawa is not a constitution.
A pipeline permission slip is not a country.
You walk away because staying means another generation of Alberta labour subsidizing a federation that treats the people who fund it as a problem to be managed.
That’s not sentiment.
That’s the receipt.
I cannot believe you backstabbed your base the way you have.
We are all shocked, abhorred and disgusted.
Please resign.
You failed the very people you claim to represent and support.
You failed Alberta.

@inamood@ABProsperityPrj Ontario, the so called engine of Canada draws welfare from Alberta. If all you liberal women didn’t vote for Trudeau we probably wouldn’t be having this conversation.
@thevivafrei@RealCandaceO Viva, I know your tasked with trying to save TPUSA for JD’s presidential run. But cmon man, you’re the guy that covered the Michael Flynn trial, I know that version of Viva would be super skeptical about the Robinson trial.
@Greeninja9@ChrisMartzWX For it to be a social construct doesn’t society need to buy in to the idea? Or can it just exist as a construct in an individual mind?
Him and Barnes are in the orbit of JD Vance. The TPUSA machine would be very useful to Vance for a presidential run. I hope Viva & Barnes can get back to calling balls and strikes. The Viva I’ve been watching since 2019 would’ve been asking some of the same questions as Ms. Owen’s
@roverguy1250@Wimsta_Gushu@thevivafrei Barnes fancies himself a JD Vance insider and probably has visions of himself working in a JD admin. JD wants to use the TPUSA machine for his run. That’s why I believe they’re going so hard against anyone exposing the org.
@BrockWarkentin@boehmerB@ABDanielleSmith Ok explain to me how the NDP, with a leader with far less charisma and far more baggage than Nenshi wins WITHOUT another Conservative Party to split the vote.
@erinotoole@DennisKalma@WBrettWilson The problem Erin, is that our kids won’t be able to make it on base soon. The men and women that fought for Canada didn’t do so to surrender to the globalists of which YOU REPRESENT.
@iBelieveiCanBri @JordyVanDemLemb @Rach4Patriarchy After watching Elizabeth Lane on Tucker, I get why they are hyper focused on Candace. I was a big fan of Andrew and now I can’t trust him.
