The line is owned by Metrolinx, with the TTC operating it, and Mosaic Transit Group serving as the maintainer of the vehicles and track infrastructure.

This morning, @MayorOliviaChow and #TTC chair @JamaalMyersTO introduced Mandeep Lali as the TTC's new CEO. Lali officially brings his 20-plus years of experience, including transit leadership roles in London and New York, to Toronto on July 7.

Like many of you, I am sick of the snow.

As the city and residents dig out, we must look out for one another.

Yet, I spotted this on my way to City Hall today.

Drivers: do not park on snow routes, including all roads with streetcars. You block traffic and make it difficult for crews to complete their work. You could be fined or towed.

The #TTC Line 3 SRT era is officially closing on two fronts.
1) In mid-September, contracted crews began the months-long process of removing the rail, signals, and concrete to make way for the construction of the new busway, which starts next Spring.
2) The old SRT cars have started their journeys to their new homes. 18 going to Detroit for the @detpeoplemover , two going to @streetcarmuseum in Halton, and one going to @TheTorontoZoo (for show, not transport).

#TTC operator Marc Torres (middle, standing) was recognized by our Board today for his heroic rescue of a trapped driver during a fiery crash involving a car and two buses at Bathurst and Eglinton on Oct. 9.

Flags are being lowered to half-mast on #TTC property in memory of Al Leach, Chief General Manager from 1987 to 1995.
Mr. Leach’s career in the transportation industry spanned 40 years. He worked for the Ontario Department of Highways for 23 years and was Managing Director and Chief Administrative Officer of GO Transit before joining the TTC.
Our thoughts are with his friends and family at this difficult time.

The #TTC has officially submitted our first application under the Canada Public Transit Fund.
This is the first step in securing funding for new subway trains.
Today was the first day for applications and we didn’t want to wait any longer!

For new projects, it’s now TTC requirement that a streetcar right-of-way can safely accommodate two-way bus replacement operation.

Meet Ivan!

He is one of the approximately 25 birds of prey that helps keep the airspace at Toronto Pearson clear by reducing the number of birds on runways and thus the chances of an airplane experiencing a bird strike.

Ivan is an approximately 24-year-old Bald Eagle, and the only bald eagle part of the wildlife management team. Coming in at 7 pounds, Ivan is the biggest bird of prey used at Toronto Pearson.

Joining the team in 2001, Ivan can reach speeds over 50 km/hour in normal flight, and over double that speed when diving.

Our wildlife management team takes Ivan out to patrol the airfield, along with the creeks, grassland areas, floodplains and wild areas pocket our property.

The team begins an hour before sunrise and works an hour after sunset to ensure wildlife is properly managed on the roughly 4,600 acres of property the airport sits on.

FALCON has been using birds of prey at Toronto Pearson since 1999.
