@RogersHistory All you say Tom, is true... It's a Kaleidoscope of problems now. There are many different things driving people away, from OFSTED to MAT Micromanagement, to constant Government interference... and it REALLY is an Iceberg...
@DocWhalley @RogersHistory I work in the IB system and we talk regularly of Student Agency but never once have I heard the term Teacher Agency from SLT ... in fact the overall trend seems to be creeping back towards micro-management. Is there a case to be made for Educational Leadership training courses?
EXPERIENTIAL LEARNING: Gr. 4 students experienced being displaced from their usual learning spaces in the school to help them reflect on the central idea that, 'Migration can present varying challenges and opportunities in the lives of people and their communities'. #yislearning
How to approach a situation where the teaching staff is pushing back against signing up for Mentoring duty, until the students can provide 'a relatively detailed plan' of what they intend to study and what Action they intend to take. But isn't this the definition of the Mentor's?
Question for all IBers ... what does the IBO say in its documentation about teachers in a PYP school being Mentors for Exhibition?
Also, in your experience, who runs the Exhibition, and who does all the 'other' tasks like prepping Exhibition booklets for students and Mentors?

Is anyone else disliking the "spirit" of the Americans? When they mess up the other team fouled them and they always call foul ... yet whenever they make the foul they always contest the foul ...๐คฌ
Part 1: Just been treated to some of the greatest customer service that Vodafone Hungary has to offer! After paying a late bill of more than โฌ250, several hours later the service is still not re-activated and Customer Service here is some of the worst I have experienced anywhere
Part 2: Vodafone has an option in their phone menu for English language support but no actual English-speaking operators ever answer that option!!! The Hungarian operators ask you to call back, or finally offer a callback service that never comes.
Part 3: I finally lost patience and asked to speak to a supervisor; I was told 25 times it was not possible. Finally the same guy asked me to wait whilst he went to speak to the supervisor! He came back, repeated the same "its not possible" and put the phone down on me!! Great!!
@fablefy@annapedagogy My sentiments exactly. Core curriculum turnover I understand ... we must believe this wil be over sooner or later (time frame dependant on shifting positivity and/or wine consumption) and keeping at least a semi-routine is vital for kids ... but take the shackles off teachers!
Online teaching is an art and our Ts have been forced into it without any training. Our elementary school Ts are not even focusing on zooms and just focusing on the curriculum. Why is curriculum even being driven? Can we just not focus on creativity, happiness and #mentalhealth
Another great day of virtual learning with my awesome kids. Today we figured out how to do Kahoots when you donโt have two screens - the learning curve once past โ2 windows? Split screen Mr. Haines??โ was incredible. Even the Kahoot tension was palpable down the broadband!! Yes!
@kjinquiry One idea today was for our learners to use natural items found in gardens or parks to creatively express the understanding they should have gained (from 2 days of independent research and practice using Khan Academy) of fractions, improper fractions and mixed numbers ...
@ISH_EAL Thanks for sharing guys. My question for admins everywhere is what are the expectations of the home learning/online/virtual learning programs we are all working so hard to upload and manage? Is it to provide busy work or is the point to replicate class learning as best as we can?
