@swrighteconomy@hellenomania State interdependence and comparative advantage is a good point here and the WA economy would be less efficient and have lower living standards without trade with NSW and VIC but ‘utterly struggle’ is a bit dramatic.
@TMFScottP@_warrenhogan This is an excellent point. A clear lack of pragmatism stands out with a lot of governments but seems especially prevalent with the current federal govt.
“There is no such thing, of course, as ‘free’ education somebody has to pay. In systems with no charges those somebodies are all taxpayers. This is a pretty important point: a ‘free’ higher education system is one paid for by the taxes of all, the majority of whom haven’t had the privilege of a university education. Ask yourself if you think that is a fair thing.”
Paul Keating, 1995
@tw4goldstein @AusElectoralCom Hi @AntonyGreenElec if Tim Wilson’s final winning margin is reduced materially after a partial recount - would that not be a basis for his opponent to request a full recount?
@DavidPocock I can’t speak to the ‘petroglyphs’ but the rest of it is completely incorrect. What hope do we have when this is the view of (probably) two thirds of the Australian senate?
@clairlemon Inevitable that some programs will be cut that are worthy of funding. Real question is why are people so indifferent to 2t annual govt deficit and 30t in public debt.
Bravo #apples under netting at west Manjimup. Only a few weeks until harvest. Good colour already. Always a challenge to get this apple in spec and always some oversize fruit. #bravo#apples#agribusiness
