Everyone in NCC extends its deepest sympathy to the Casey Family, to Eoghan Ruadh @DGNHurlingclub and to Tír Eoghain senior hurlers @TyroneGAALive on the devastating loss of all-time hurling great Damian Casey. Shocked beyond words we are. I measc laochra na nGael go raibh sé.
@RTEgaa@RTEBrainstorm Good effort, although a population density map without co boundarys would tell at lot more. I.e east Cork popular but west Cork not so much. Similar for smaller counties like S&E Derry v N&W Derry. Even dual countys like Wexford have less teams around the New Ross district.
@David_Kelly92@RTEgaa@RTEBrainstorm Very pointless. Wicklow or Antrim prob would have been in the blue category only for large mountain ranges where very few people live
@PogoSkyBlues42@oul_man@OxfordDiplomat I think the point is that modern Irish are decended from gaels and norman's and others. They integrated and are now us. People who live in Ireland and call themselves British either came during the plantation or the Scottish lowland potato famine & never really integrated.
13 Ukrainian border guards on Snake Island refused to surrender. All perished. Their last words to the Russians:
“Go fuck yourselves.”

@Ollieingalway@rtenews As someone who is involved in the dredging of rivers, it 95% of the time doesn't work and if it does wogk, it needs constant costly maintenance on a cyclical basis. In this situation dredging would be the equivalent of removing a teaspoon of water from a bathtub.
@Martin19911950@rtenews I take it you don't live close to the border then Martin do you. You're certainly not 1 of the thousands crossing every day because they work on 1 side and live on the other. That's where the logic is Martin.
Traditional Irish Jack O Lantern from a turnip. 1903. Beautifully absurd Irish mythology. Jack asked the devil out for a pint. They’d no money. So Jack convinced the Devil to turn himself into a coin, to pay for the drinks. Then the devil barred him from Hell for being annoying.
@AndyBelfast@Sands777@osheaf01@TrevorLunnLV You do realise that a massive proportion of NI protestants are decended from starving emigrants from southern Scotland escaping a potato famine there, prior to the great famine. Furthermore a significant number converted to protestantism back then, to put food on the table.
@PatricKielty Unpopular opinion but I didn't find it balanced at all. It seemed to focus exclusively on loyalism and presented NI as almost on the verge of civil war. It was obviously filmed during the summer when there was a bit of loyalist hysteria over the protocol then.
There’ll be a lot of the Tyrone men struggling today. Day 4 is a mental battle. Get yourself down to the local, order a Smirnoff ice and put Euphoria - Loreen on the jukebox and thank me later #Euphoriaaaa#Day4
