@ShaneRyanHere They definitely lost to a better team, but I don’t discount the psychological impact of the previous few days. I’m sure the team would say it had no effect, but your mental focus has to be so sharp at that level. And you can’t tell me that whole ordeal was not a distraction.
@DavidDack A truth it took me years to learn. I have a bad habit of putting way too many miles on VaporFlys. Which should not be a training shoe, anyways. 457, 593 and 614 miles on three old pairs.
@AdamKinzinger They always say “the first step to recovery is admitting you have a problem.” Clearly, this guy has not reached the first step yet. He’s not a victim. He’s a poster child for FAFO.
@DavidDack I’m an old, fat(ish) guy who sweats a ton. I feel like I need my 12oz handheld for anything over 3 miles (and sometimes under when it’s really hot). Gels and gummies are for 12 miles +.
@REFLOG18 Flying home from Philadelphia this morning. A woman from the back of the plane got up immediately, grabbed her bags and started walking to the front. She got about halfway before people were in front of her. I took my time exiting. Ended up passing her on the way to baggage claim
@DavidDack My hardest effort 5K does not begin to compare to the marathon. A few hours after the 5K I am tired, but totally fine. Even a moderate marathon effort wrecks me for a few days.
@DavidDack I finally broke 4 hours in my first pair of Vaporflys. But that year, I also took hills, sprints and intervals more seriously in my training. From 4:10 to 3:53. And I think all of it contributed- the shoes and the training. But I absolutely “feel” faster with the carbon plates
@Acyn Way to twist the details to make a racist point. No healthcare facility is replacing a licensed medical professional with somebody who is unlicensed, regardless of their resident status. There are jobs in healthcare that are vital, yet do not require any license.
