As an autistic person and somebody who talks about autism at length I want to be CLEAR:

Everybody STIMS. When you get a paper cut and flap your hand to soothe the pain. You are stimming. Autistic people stim REGULARLY. We must remember that autistic people are still PEOPLE. So to say things such as “Well everybody does that” means absolutely nothing. Everybody also urinates. However if you’re urinating every couple minutes you PROBABLY have an overactive bladder. Even tho “EVERYBODY PEES” your daily life is impacted by this in a way that others are not.

There are serval criteria that you must check off to be diagnosed as autistic. Just bc you stim once in a while doesn’t mean by default that you are autistic.
