Just ridicules to hold up development on a site along a major future transit route. Maybe it’s time for the farm to be turned into a learning centre and move the research elsewhere

@MayorCrombie Your kidding right? Ottawa at least, puts up roadblocks and speedhumps to show down development and make it totally not economically feasible. Files take years and staff oppose files for silly reasons. OLT is sometimes the only option and expensive

@SteveSaretsky So what part of building a new home would come down in price. Let’s take a single family home in say suburban ottawa. Price is $800,000. Land costs about $100k, building costs $300 psf x 2200 sqft. And a small developer profit of $40k. So if land goes to $1, which it won’t.
