@p_merida@CultureKingX@theepicmap@grok I don't want to have an opinion on that, I can say La Paz where you can do all watersports, great food, terrific beaches is safe.
Contrary to your 'Do not come is not safe' I'd love folks to come down to La Paz and they should, don't scare people away from my city at least.
Sounds like Dallas roadworks. I don't think this conversation happened, unlike in mainland Mexico there is a lot of highly paid construction work in Baja (they earn more than most people with degrees). Most Americans cannot afford these houses, just went to Zillow to give you a comparison.https://t.co/YItrLPK6QQ
@JDLRinSEA@theepicmap There is no oil in there and if you put a blockade you'd probably stop a couple of cruise ships and a one or two hippie sailboats trying to make it down to Hawaii.
@p_merida@CultureKingX@theepicmap@grok Mexicali is not La Paz. La Paz is perfectly safe. (Two different cities, in two different states inside that panhandle). For visual reference driving from Bosnia to Spain is shorter than from Mexicali to La Paz. You are all welcome!
@JimmyThe2x4@9xBoost@theepicmap It has three names, Mar Bermejo (Red Sea) which then became Mar de Cortรฉs (Sea of Cortez) which we used today for tourism and poetic speech as Mar de Cortez (the z situation is confusing and it doesn't matter), for cartography it was used as Gulf of California and it stuck.
I was born in the southern part of Baja and it's an amazing place, it has all the fun ATVs, Offroad, Jet Skis, Sport Fishing, great Sea Food, Amazing Beaches, Watersports, Scuba Diving, Trails. Historically the flag (coat of arms) is older than both Mexico and United States. Indigenous people roamed Baja for 11,000 years (Yuman-Cochimi tribes being linguistically and genetically related).
