@anishmoonka You neglect to mention that they sell the loans to daddy’s related company at a higher than market rate, resulting in the too good to be true $6,800 profit

“One of the fundamental mistakes we've made over the last 30 or 40 years is putting cameras everywhere in Washington, D.C.
This is not an argument against transparency. We should have reporters around. We should have pen and pad. We should have people recording what's happening.
But we should make the Senate less of an institution that is built as a backdrop platform for people to get sound bites. That's not what the Senate is for. The Senate should be plodding, and steady, and boring, and trustworthy.”
@Larryjamieson_ Claude is a joke now, our whole company got onboarded to an enterprise license on Wednesday and I literally get one prompt out of it before hitting limits
Want to know whether to believe the latest AI hype? Ask yourself: What is the current business model of the AI labs? Is it selling subscriptions, tokens, etc. to make net income? Or is it raising money? Clearly, they are still raising money - so I'm skeptical of "Mythos" claims
@DavidDeutschOxf@skdh People who have a tendency to believe conspiracy theories (assuming no mental illness) have never gathered enough foundational knowledge about the world through reading good material, resulting in their having no sense of up or down with truth. They aren't grounded in reality
@BarbellFi@EDUreboot If you start your historical average from 2026 where markets are close to all-time-high valuations (2000 tech bubble excepted) then 12% looks reasonable, but in reality you should expect closer to 10%
@Chris_arnade@TheStalwart The problem is people view the "AI" CEOs as altruistic scientists when in reality they are also fundraisers/biz folks marketing their technology. LLMs can do some impressive stuff but they are far less capable than their biggest pumpers claim and we are light years from AGI
@tomfgoodwin Well said. I'll also go a step further - it's why what we are calling "AI" can't replace humans, because it simply can't do what humans do.
@jeffrey_way Extra pay goes a long way. Franchisees also limited to one location only, so they are selective with hiring. And culture is hugely different, partly as a result of single location (though brand history and values bigger factor)
@constans Ya I get you, it's a valid point. I think it's a bit ridiculous though how little e.g. pediatricians make compared to say a big law associate though, agree the Buccee's manager earns it
