@dave43law @MurrayJohn2000 @NadineDorries So he was 17 when he arrived in the country illegally. Remember there were no safe and legal routes to claim asylum in the UK and you can only claim asylum once you arrive in the UK. He was granted asylum and leave to remain so was in this country legally.

@Wolfonabridge @villa1st @mrhenrymorris I think the point is affordable. Councils sell housing stock. They do not get the proceeds of sale so any investment in new housing stock needs to be affordable and not at private landlord rate

@Wolfonabridge @mrhenrymorris The right to buy decimated council stock. Money the sale of council houses went to Central government an not council's so no funding to replenish housing stock. Lots of ex social housing now in the hands of private landlords. Rent controls are needed
