5/19/2023 With the Mets down 7-3 in the seventh, Pete Alonso hits a game-tying grand slam. After Cleveland takes a two-run lead in the tenth, Francisco Álvarez ties the game with an RBI single, and Francisco Lindor follows with a walk-off hit against his former team.
being so real quinn’s chances of winning a cup in MN are so much lower than in NJ/elsewhere, having to go through the avs and stars every year is brutal
Just saying…
IF the Minnesota Wild Lose in Game 5 -
Quinn Hughes was closer to winning a Stanley Cup in Vancouver than he was in Minnesota…
The same Vancouver team he then requested a trade from in hopes of playing with his brothers
Just saying…
I could see the Flyers taking a step back next season and missing. Columbus with a full season under Bowness will be back, I think the Devils will be re-energized next season with Mehta at the helm. I say Wings finally figure it out next year (I know, been saying it for yrs now).
@annikadevils i don’t think anyone is going to force dougie out now, i think he’s just fed up (rightfully so) with how fitz handled him during the season so i think he wouldn’t mind a fresh start elsewhere, but i hope sunny could save that relationship, especially if they deal nemec
jack is under contract until 2030 in order to get him to stay they need to start winning playoff series’, that’s not going to happen using this pick and maybe get help with whoever they were to pick in a couple years, need to add to this team NOW they are already a top team
Exactly. You aren’t building a cup contender overnight. Not with all the bad contracts the devils have. You need to build a base of young talent as well as the superstars like Tampa, Wild, Avs, Fl did.. just trading away picks and bringing in bodies is the Ranger model and now they are on another retool. same with Oilers, Leafs etc.. it has to be a mix. We have Jack, Nico, Bratt, Timo, Nemec, Dougie, wtc but it’s our bottom two lines that kill us. Without prospects coming up and feeding injuries or players leaving we quickly fall apart.
@annikadevils yea cap would be an issue for both teams but i imagine dougie is on his way out the door with how his situation was handled mid season, unless sunny saves that - there are definitely avenues to adding a t6 guy moving around contracts - i think they’ll get something done for knies
@annikadevils carolina has kept their 1st round pick twice since 2020, i doubt jack leaves too but there is a possibility he leaves in 2030 if quinn doesn’t come when his contract is up - there are multiple players they can target - brady, knies, robo, even hintz, stars are in cap hell
You need to clear Markstrom's contract this summer, but the goalie market is bereft of talent in free agency. You need a solution, but no clue what's gonna be out there this offseason.
@papiblez Sure, OR they can make it work with both! The following lineup works with an additional $3M in cap space for a 3LW, and that’s with extensions to Grits (5x$5) and Cotter (1x$1.1) and no Tsyplakov moved.
Assumed Noesen is offloaded for future considerations/waived.
