#Eritrea's Delegation Statement at 21st Extraordinary Session of AU Assembly on Strengthening of Mechanisms for Conflict Prevention and Resolution;
Luanda, Republic of Angola; 30 Aug. 2026
"The root causes of conflicts in Africa vary from one situation to another. Nevertheless, ethnic and religious polarization, state fragility, corruption, exclusionary and divisive politics, and external interference are among the factors that frequently cause or exacerbate conflicts. There must therefore be deliberate, sustained and comprehensive efforts to address these challenges in a coherent and strategic manner".
"At the sub-regional and continental levels, it is imperative to undertake a thorough evaluation of the existing peace, security and governance architectures, with a view to identifying their shortcomings, building on their strengths, and improving their effectiveness".
"External interference - whether directly through the deployment or support of mercenaries, or indirectly through financial, political and military support to actors in African conflicts - is inflicting enormous damage on the continent and prolonging conflicts. Africa can truly be the master of its own destiny only when it asserts and safeguards its ownership of the solutions to its challenges and rejects external meddling in its affairs".

PRESS STATEMENT
Hoax News Story on the Phantom “Eritrean Oil Tanker”
This bizarre story is astounding on many counts:
- All the information in the public domain about this ship shows that it is not owned by, and has no links whatsoever with, Eritrea.
- IMO records show that "the ship is flying a false Eritrean flag; i.e, as not owned by or officially registered in Eritrea". This was duly confirmed to Eritrea's Permanent Mission to the IMO.
- Yet, the usual culprits chose to abandon all semblance of journalistic standards to indulge in, and unleash, another despicable campaign of disinformation on Eritrea.

I saw social media posts wondering how the representative of Eritrea 🇪🇷 at Miss World 2026 is garnering more votes than contestants from countries with vastly larger populations.
🇪🇷 Those who underestimate Eritrea do so at their own peril. 🇪🇷

Excellent Read - “ኮራለይ/My Coral: #Eritrean Women’s Timeless Beauty; by Kidane Shimendi
*"...As I learn more about what she (Snit Habteab) is manifesting at the global stage, I have discovered Eritrean women’s timeless beauty in her inspiring life journey, captivating smile, graceful body motion, and very-well informed briefing".
*"...When I started looking for the right word that can capture Eritrean women’s remarkable beauty, a widely popular love song ኮራለይ a Tigrinya word for 'my coral', crossed my mind. I felt the majestic beauty of a coral reef could capture Eritrean women’s timeless beauty and Eritrea’s essence as a maritime nation".
*''...Both demonstrate the value of 'unity in diversity'. They embody a flawless harmony of their several distinct internal diversities. For instance, Eritrean women’s diverse traditional hair braids can be likened to the intricate organic architecture of coral reefs. Also, both share common unwavering spirit of resilience: Eritrean women’s endurance during catastrophes such as war and draught and coral reefs’ endurance in the face of global warming and other human-induced environmental disasters".
*"...When these nine distinct threads are woven together, they create a national aesthetic that is breathtakingly rich. Just like the coral reef, the beauty of Eritrea is magnificent because it refuses to be a monolith; it is a thriving, collective ecosystem of diverse human expression".
*"...Another common element of beauty that likens Eritrean women to the coral reef is the value of resilience. Both have the undeniable common bond of absolute resilience. A coral reef is not a fragile decoration. It is a biological fortress... The beauty of an Eritrean woman is a beauty that has looked into the face of hardship and refused to bow. It is etched into the dignified, upright posture of an elder matriarch who raised a family through wartime".

A massive from #SnitHabteab
I thank God for the opportunity to stand on the biggest stage and represent our flag. I also feel like I got my job done by making sure Eritrea was represented in every single aspect of its beauty. Although my experience in pageant walking was a challenge, according to some fans and judges I spoke with, the rest was commended, and I give all credit to God, the family that raised me, and my community. This shows that while we may lack experience in some coachable areas, we are blessed with internal beauty, which cannot be taught.
Most of all, I believe that I could still have won without those experiences if God had willed it, because if He says so, no power on earth can stop it. He gave me peace, knowing that it wasn’t my time. My journey in this competition wasn’t about the prize but about the impact it had on our people.
Thank you again for your unwavering love and support. Crown or no crown, I will always represent you wherever I go and in whatever opportunities I get. ❤️🇪🇷👑🎉
@biniam_girmaye_hailu_ this dress was in your honor, thank you for being an inspiration.

#Eid Mewlid al Nebyi celebrations held at Asmara's Grand Mosque today in the presence of senior Government and PFDJ officials, religious leaders, members of the Diplomatic Community, and the faithful.
#Eritrea's Mufti, Sheikh Salim I. al-Mukhtar, delivered religious sermon and blessings.
The Mufti underlined, in his sermon, the imperative of continued adherence to Eritrea's foundational ethical precepts and standards in this age of globalization, and the preservation and further consolidation of its harmonious national unity and cohesion secured through the precious sacrifice of its Martyrs.
