Hey @NYCMayor when I look at America I see America’s freedom and liberty and abundance — reliable infrastructure, plentiful resources, and economic opportunity — far surpassing the oppression and restrictions many fled from. America is a country like no other where you can come with nothing and through hard work you can build a life far better than anywhere else.
As an immigrant, I denounce the ignorance of those who reject this reality and seek to fundamentally change America rather than assimilate.
If you came here to change America you should return where you came from.

You forgot to mention that even if America is fundamentally an idea (liberty, equality under law, opportunity, self-government), that idea can only survive and flourish within a real, sovereign nation-state with secure borders!!!!
Without them, the institutions, culture, and rule of law that protect those principles erode.
