@Culture_Crit Exactly four years ago is a bit misleading. It was a mosque since the fall of the Byzantine empire. It was reconsecrated four years ago after being a museum since the 1930s.

@Billieiswriting And in this vein, Trump is the perfect postmodern candidate. He does not have to make his views comport to reality - his claims make sense inside of a linguistic context. Their veracity is not relevant. Only that they function linguistically.

@CoffeewClassics Some easy removals: Gatsby, Little Women, Wuthering Heights, Pride and Prejudice, and 1984. My heart says Frankenstein because I really love that book, but I think I would have to go with either Homer or Virgil. I feel like from them all the others flow. Save the roots!

@bobonbooks Obviously Wells and Verne. Asimov's Foundation series are excellent every read, though I still think his End of Eternity doesn't get enough focus. The author I enjoy is Orson Scott Card. I think the Ender universe is an excellently contrived universe. But the king is Herbert!
