The entire premise of Hatsunia is about being the futuristic country people expected Japan to be.

Japan is not futuristic

Japan is a fossil stuck in 1990

99% of Westerners still don't get this

Futuristic Asia is China, Korea, Vietnam, etc

No Asian rates Japan for modernity at all

Hatsunia represents an optimistic counterpart to the trope of “Japan as a dystopian Cyberpunk superpower” and tech doomerism in general.

So it is inspired by aesthetics like Cyberprep and Frutiger Aero, which emphasize "the positives of technological advancement."

@HipernovaStar No, but the Worlda template is a common format used on https://t.co/Rf7jMRvvIf.

There’s also a bigger template called QBAM.

October 21, 2015 in Back to the Future Part II (1989) was intended to be a subversion of dark and gritty cyberpunk media like Blade Runner.

But it was still based on the 1980s idea that Japan would become an economic superpower (the fear of which being known as “Japan-bashing”).

Large-scale commercial space activity: “evil waste of money that should go to fixing Earth”

An alternate history in which India was never partitioned, if it could be kept stable with decentralized regional autonomy and protections for religious minorities, could have mitigated the rise of the Taliban and al-Qaeda and prevented 9/11.

@ADM_Welsly AWWNB is a “burn down everything” kind of organization, though

What deradicalized me was seeing the unreasonable extremes on both the left and the right. Both feed off each other in a vicious cycle, as I saw back in 2020.

[mikusingularity 🚀🪐 @mikusingularity]

I don’t trust the “burn everything down” far left or the “get rid of all immigrants” far right.

I am working on tracing Hatsunia's terrain and rivers (made using GIMP and the Wilbur erosion simulation software) into a vector format in Inkscape.

It is taking a long time because of the high level of detail.
