California hasn’t built a new UC school in over 2 decades, while the student population has grown massively, leading to lower and lower acceptance rates for California’s students.
Here’s an idea for vacant downtown offices: Buy a cluster of them in DTLA, Sacramento, or SF, and swiftly open up a new UC system without a single CEQA battle. Converting offices to classroom is easy and cheap.
If NYU can make vertical campuses in the City work, so can we.
