just zoom in on it. this is obvious photobashing, the difference in texture quality is not something AI would do, I get that purple-ish lighting is synonymous with AI but that's because AI IS TRAINED ON REAL ART. I can not believe people are being so smug.

if you read the press releases of the mattel and openai collaboration, you'd know it was about "AI-powered products", aka a toy that has some form of chatbot built-in.
these new toys are not that.
they aren't AI, they're just ugly.

@DustyMarie53 It's not S5 Thomas, it's almost certainly the CGI model. Pretty much every detail lines up with the CGI model's default pose, and the splasher gap can be explained by a differences in subdivision (Rosie also has different subdivision on her boiler compared to old renders)

@LOTTracks @wilbertlad it's still most likely just renders with ugly faces. if there's an official announcement that proves me wrong then egg on my face and all that, but at this time i don't think that there's any substantial evidence that it's ai, it just looks ugly.

notice the fact that all the models we've seen on the renders line up perfectly with the cgi models.
you've literally proven what i've been saying, that these aren't ai, and are just ugly.

@LOTTracks @wilbertlad 1) again, the renders are literally 1:1 with the existing models, just with new faces and details. there isn't an ai out there that's this perfect, and thomas wouldn't be a prime ip to debut something like that on.

a new ai model that's able to create images that, even with its manipulation, line up perfectly with existing models, being used for the first time on thomas the tank engine, despite it not being a 13+ brand.
or.
the existing 3d model has a new face.

@OTomatron Going off of a high-res version taken from the database, it looks to be a 2D illustration that's had the 3D face edited onto it in post.

@LOTTracks @wilbertlad 90% of the renders are just the pre-existing ones with new faces and details slapped on, and whilst it's at a new angle, the thomas render lines up perfectly with the stock pose of his cgi model. an ai wouldn't be able to make something that perfect looking, it's just ugly.

@ThomasFan2002YT Tom, with all due respect, even if what you're saying is true, it's a "boy who cried wolf" situation. Those edits may not be AI, but you've used and defended it so much in the past to where people probably won't believe you regardless.

Very proud to announce that production on my newest story has officially begun! My original release window estimate most likely needs to be pushed back, as some very promising looking models are being developed by some friends of mine, and waiting for their-(1/3)

The sheer amount of vitriol and hatred I've seen over this is honestly concerning. Y'all acted like hounds after getting the slightest scent of blood. It's just dumb, and it doesn't help anyone. The issue's been resolved, so please, just drop it.

I feel like I need to address the TBS stuff, as some of y'all are blowing it out of proportion.
TBS didn't do out of malice. They simply made an error setting up the site, as they didn't realise that setting up something as free still required the checkout process.

Within minutes of me bringing it up to them, they took the site offline, and the site has since been reworked to no longer have any of the issues I brought up. The issue has been resolved. It was a mistake that shouldn't have happened, but it's been fixed now.

@bluesnowplow My concern has now significantly grown; I put in a burner email and a fake address, and the file I get is this. I get not wanting to release the models yet, but this could potentially count as fraud, stealing personal data under false pretences. Take down the fake store pages.
