Fed Govt made a commitment to fully offset #Beetaloo emissions during #SGM negotiations @Bowenchris So who was supposed to pay for these offsets? The companies should pay. Why is this being dumped on the public purse? #auspol
In a big step that will help transform Australia’s energy sector and deliver a 100% renewable, zero emissions energy grid, Energy Ministers have today agreed to include emissions reduction as a new objective into national energy laws including the National Electricity Objective.
First, remember this is a synthesis report of the peer-reviewed literature. So these results were already out there: sea level rise accelerating; drought, heavy rain & extreme heat risks soaring, massive wildfires. They just hadn't been pulled together into one overwhelming list.
Thanks @motamman for humanising the climate change story by writing these profiles. I both enjoyed and was challenged by the process of sharing my personal story. The science is clear, we need to rapidly reduce emissions now. @MonashEAE https://t.co/Ug44HBxJL4
Our community and council survey is open - let us know your thoughts to inform the next Australian Local Government Climate Review. @Ironbarksustain@ICLEI

Experts estimate the heavy smoke that blanketed Australia last summer affected 80 per cent of Australians, with more than 3,000 people hospitalised – and some people are still suffering long-term health effects from the smoke. @sophiescott2@Ally__bee#abc730
North East Victoria has been chosen to host a pioneering trial that will let everyday people earn money by selling locally-generated power. This $13m investment is a testament to Indi's vibrant community energy scene and shows what a #LocalPowerPlan could do for the regions.
How long does Aust govt intend to keep Nades, Priya and the girls in prison? What is the intention? They committed no crime. What can we do to get them released? The mental damage to all 4 is unimaginable, and shames us all. The evil you walk past is the evil you accept.

Today, Corryong College unveiled a new solar system that will cut its power bills by over 60% and allow it to generate its own electricity. This is fantastic news for the whole Upper Murray and shows how renewables are building the resilience of regional communities. Thread 👇
BZE Hunter chapter set the vision for a zero emissions Hunter! They have spent ten years talking to community, councils, industry, government, investors and supported research to show what is achievable. Such a privilege to work with these community champions.
Sam Mella from @beyondzeronews in the @newcastleherald on the benefits that the NSW renewable rollout will have on the Hunter region. "many more downstream jobs are created when electricity systems are powered by abundant, affordable renewable energy"
