Two and a half years ago before joining @WWF_Australia to develop & lead the Renewables Nation program to help accelerate Australia to be a world leading renewable exporter I wrote this tweet 🧵. On Friday with some sadness I finished up at WWF.
A new🧵of some progress we've made

This is the bible of energy transitions.
Do find a quiet place and read it;)
The graphs are soooo rich in great data and messaging. Here are my favourite...
We acknowledge the many non-Aboriginal people who support us and are also hurting with the referendum result.
Thank you for your solidarity 💪🏽
This graphic is mob and ally friendly.
Feel free to share it to show your support 🖤💛❤️
Renewables are unstoppable now whether you like it or not.
74% of all newly installed capacity was wind and solar in 2022. Less than 15% was fossil.
@BloombergNEF Graph shared by @MLiebreich in his keynote in Brussels at our event last month.
Not sure if you noticed, but as of yesterday, the UK only had one coal-fired power station remaining

Solar is set to attract more capital than global oil production in 2023 for the first time
This reflects the major shift taking place in energy systems around the world. And it's another sign that clean energy is moving faster than many people think https://t.co/VTSt02d5i5
Sometimes smart alec Australian climate nerds like me point out that Australia's reporting of emissions from the land sector is not very good, but check this out.

2) they paid forward, notably for PV, cost reductions (along with others)
They’re a threat to two industries that still have lots of dollars and clout to trash

40 years of mining all of the new energy materials = 1 year of fossil fuel mining.
Nice stats to counter some of the claims by many opponents of clean energy. @ProfRayWills@mzjacobson@alex_avoigt@bobbyllew
Eg Robert had a guest on his last episode with FUD on mining.
