Huge shoutout to @argyllandbute for stepping up with sustainable rate for ELC funded providers:
£9.04 for 2-year-olds
£7.98 for 3+
£4.23 daily meal payment
Investing in ALL our youngest learners & those who care for them! @scotgov@NdnaScotland@earlyyearsscot@westpartnership
@elc1140@HumzaYousaf@neilcgray@NatalieDon_ blatantly admitting how they overstaff their own services, how LA staff are paid way more than PVI and they set the rate lower than LA to reflect that. Sheer discrimination against both children and staff in PVI. Disgusting that LA officers feel that this is ok and defend it.
@ffsfairfunding1@HumzaYousaf Truly eye opening clip, it sums up everything that is wrong with #elc in 🏴 councils not increasing funding rate when RLW and cpi increase by c10% is blatant hypocrisy and discrimination against SME businesses in 🏴 @RichardLochhead can you please comment on this injustice.
Wow, wow, wow, these ELC officers seem to believe they staff their settings differently from us! They are clearly clueless @HumzaYousaf you need to take 1140hrs funding out of their hands, councils are destroying the blueprint bit by bit until they wrestle control of all funds
@ffsfairfunding1@HumzaYousaf@neilcgray@NatalieDon_ So this ‘no increase’ stance effectively means that PVI will no longer be obligated to pay RLW, and CPI increases mean nurseries will now require to charge all parents for deficit on cost of delivery🤷🏻♂️ 1140hrs blueprint is now at point of collapse @HumzaYousaf@COSLA_CYP
@ffsfairfunding1@HumzaYousaf@neilcgray@NatalieDon_ With this mindset there will be no PVI settings left soon. Are LA's trying to drive us all out of business. We need SG to step up and step in to force LAs yo treat our children equally once and for all. Failed flagship poilcy, national scandal and legal challenge imminent if not.
@elc1140@HumzaYousaf@neilcgray@NatalieDon_@2020Together@ELCScotGov@STVNews@STVAlison There appears to be a very serious misallocation of ELC funding in councils like North Lanarkshire. Others will follow and @1140hrs will crumble even further into ashes. Our sector will not /cannot except this disregard for PVI who provide c1/3 of funded ELC
@HumzaYousaf@neilcgray@NatalieDon_ so NLC just announced at tonight’s partner meeting that the already unsustainable ELC funding rate of £5.77 will not be increased for 2023/24. The crisis deepens meaning expansion to 1s and 2s is a pipedream, Plse intervene urgently.
@elc1140 Did you know that many councils refuse to increase their hourly rate of private nursery funding for 1140 hours, pay themselves more, pay their staff more and still have millions, yes millions of an underspend in budget for ELC 🤔
@elc1140 Did you know because tax payers money is not shared equally between all scotlands children and families it will push nursery fees up even more. Greedy LA's are causing this problem. And independant body is being called for to control and distribute the funding. #equality4all
@elc1140 Did you know that mental health is at an all@time low for managers and owners of PVI settings. We are spinning so many plates and jumping through hoops think I’ll join the circus 🤡 surrounded by clowns !!
@elc1140 Did you know @COSLA_CYP engineered a 2 teir pay structure that allows councils to pay their staff doing the same job as non council practitioner between 30%-50% more. This momey comes from tax payers money and should be shared eqyally amoung all Scotlands Children
