my video of us on a boat on crab island as a storm rolled in got thousands of views on instagram, mostly from India. It barely charted on X, and I still rarely use instagram.
you know instagram is for normies because a single viral post is all it takes for them to quit their jobs and blow through their savings trying to become influencers.
here, if you have a post blow up, you just say oh boy, mute your notifs, and go about your day.
I try not to get political on here, but Trump’s comments toward the Italian Prime Minister were egregious and unacceptable. If we can’t condemn this behavior, Democrat and Republican, we are doomed.
When I finished my masters program, I got an offer from Deloitte. I happened to live near Detroit at the time. They emphasized that they worked 60 hour weeks at times, but I could “move up quickly”. My salary was already twice what they offered. I declined.
I do not miss waking up at 5am everyday to go to the gym before my 45 minute commute to my Deloitte client to work 8am-9pm to then drive 45 minutes home to see my wife for 2 seconds before I went to bed.
I did that for too many years.
It's insane we've gotten to a point where this is "normal."
@NataliaHEmanuel Remote work increases my time with family, the opposite of alone. If my wife worked remote, we’d be even less alone. If single people want to meet eachother, they have options better than a cold break room.
