Because the reasons for switching Draco are different than the reasons for switching other characters.

It really does seem like most people have been so thoroughly programmed by modern day crap that they don't realize what deconstruction is.

Draco is switched because it works for the character and vastly (VASTLY) improves the story without detracting, changing or subtracting from most of the other characters.

Changing other characters genders? Is not being done for that. Largely, it's because people think "Wouldn't it be cool if...?" or "A female X would be super hot".

The first is a selfish impulse that doesn't serve the story, and can be relegated largely to the sort of nonsense that populates Battle Shounen Shit-tier Anime for young teen boys.

The second is gooner bait.

Both are degenerative and deconstructive of the Mytho-Poetic Romance that female Draco and Harry represent (Amongst a broad array of other themes and completions of traditional storytelling).

*CAN* a person do a thing? Yes. *SHOULD* they is another matter.
