@JBONAMASSA He was great in Manchester the other night. We were near the front directly in front of his two half stacks. It was unbelievably loud there! He was playing great, regretting not getting tickets for another date on the tour
@vurnt22@Vurnt22 Don't forget to pre-order @robintrower Live! 50th Anniversary Edition too. The original was a tour de force but we now get to hear the whole show. Can't wait!
@vurnt22 Thanks for posting this @vurnt22 I only knew Neil Sedaka from his 80s hits which wasn’t really my thing then but this was great. The dude had some serious vocal chops, played a fine piano and wrote some great songs. Also seemed a lovely guy. RIP
@vurnt22 Magic Sam is one of the greats. I think he died before he was able to ride the crest of the wave of the blues boom, so there are only a limited number of recordings of him and very little footage. If he’d have lived a little longer, he’d be as appreciated as the three Kings
@20th_Centurygal I don’t think there’s a greatest, but along with the Muddy Waters, Robert Johnsons, John Lee Hooker level titans of blues, I’d have Hubert Sumlin and Rory Gallagher on my Mount Rushmore of Blues.
