OneCommander V4 Beta is here! 🚀
A major rewrite with faster browsing, FFmpeg previews, a new folder-size system, Taskmaster + Undo, redesigned drag & drop, customizable themes/toolbars, ARM64 support, and much more.
And this is only the beginning. ⚡

@KognitaPoland The best one for me is Gravity Sketch VR. I can model directly in space. In case of designing a chair I can have an actual stool as a placeholder and object I can sit on
@davepl1968@2Swerdy AFAIK cell membranes are made of cholesterol, so I doubt vitamin C is the most important here...
But vitamin C is finicky for memory, and I prefer Vitamin C#
@benz145 Working on OneCommander I had to dig under the hood, and Windows never stops surprising. Windows 11 is basically a skin for the old Windows NT, just made worse with badly implemented asynchronous functionality. 5/11 of my OC dev years was wasted just wrestling with Windows basics
@DThompsonDev My old one https://t.co/GBNMgUAGla and all the thoughts that went into design and UX decisions:

Later I experimented with just visual resume

but then I realized that nobody cares about portfolio sites, just in what they get from it
@cixliv I was thinking about it in 2017 when WMR seemed like having a bright future: https://t.co/6iEJ103UMF
At least this is out there as a "prior art" in case Apple thought to patent it and keep others locked out
@FreyaHolmer In @onecommander you can have a more direct way to access your current and previously opened folders from other programs' Open/Save dialogs, if that is what you needed
@zacbowden As OneCommander developer I dig deep into Windows every day, and I don't like it at all. Under the hood, Windows is held by duct tape, rusty nails and chewing gum. For everything you need redundancies and workarounds to make basic things work.
20+ years ago my generation spent time designing Winamp skins.
Today Apple invented customization for the new generation: tinting icons and moving them "anywhere" 🤣
Some new iOS 18 Features
- The ability to put icons anywhere on the homescreen grid
- Theme engine to add a single tint color to all icons and widgets
- Redesigned control center with multiple pages and third party app support
- You can finally change the flashlight and camera shortcuts on the lockscreen
Heads up! After mid-July, the pace of new @OneCommander features might slow down as we welcome a new family member 👶🎉 Unless, someone decides to buy the OC project and accelerates it 😉. Regardless, other file managers need 5+ years to catch up, and Windows File Explorer 10 😜
@zacbowden These 1K Likes only for Microsoft's confirmation on WPF being here to stay.
They should have just improved on it and by now make it cross-platform, instead of all those weak efforts of the past years to create something completely new that nobody wants to develop with
Being in USA sucks: look at the price differences. It is like this for everything.
The hack to see nice round units by switching to UK version is useful, but then you also realize americans only like black and white, and most other veneers are not available

@cixliv Yes, it is badly designed, but the weight is still tolerable for a few hours with BoboVR strap. Old Acer WMR was still lighter and more comfortable. The looks they could easily fix by hiring qualified people. It is definitely not a large barrier for a wide adoption
