For individuals on GLP-1 weight-loss medications, the stakes are even higher. They're shedding pounds fast, but muscle mass and bone density go with it. Without strength training to offset that loss, they're accelerating the exact physical decline that puts adults in assisted living facilities decades later.
Carl Daikeler, BODi CEO, says the real reason adults need to exercise has nothing to do with looking good — it's about being able to walk and talk at the same time into your 90s.
The formula is simple: Lift weights to build the muscle your metabolism runs on, do cardio to keep your heart and lungs going, and maintain flexibility so you can move independently as you age. As little as 10 minutes a day is enough, he says.
"If I do 20 minutes of discomfort, the rest of the day is awesome," Daikeler said. "The first 98% is... Are you lifting? Are you doing some cardio? Are you maintaining your flexibility and mobility?" He says the formula is that simple — and most adults never start because they think it has to be complicated.

@TheFive everyone complaining about high gas prices. In Tennessee our gas is $3.69-$4.69 which is a little high for us but not like in California! Why such a big difference? Is it state taxes added on. That’s not Trumps fault!
