We commend the adoption of the long awaited @UN Security Council resolution demanding an immediate humanitarian ceasefire during the holy month of Ramadan in Gaza. This has been long overdue.

We demand that the resolution adopted today is fully implemented, and call upon Israel to fully comply by it.

The hope of a ceasefire brings timely relief to the people of Gaza, as they strive to embrace the true spirit of Ramadan in the face of adversity and continuous attacks by Israeli forces.

It is crucial that the international community upholds this momentum to find a permanent ceasefire and an immediate end to the perpetuation of genocidal acts. Simply put, the world must do more for the Palestinian people.
