Something I kinda always knew but was confirmed last year is that you can't be what you can't see. Look for ways to make your world bigger. Travel, read, befriend larger than life people.
Realising that I might have been masking all these time. Could explain why social interactions can be draining for me despite wanting to have fulfilling connections.
most of the time I don’t understand social norms and it just feels like a bunch of silly nonsensical rules that I think it’s what people are “supposed” to do
Maybe it’s not that I am “awkward” but my natural demeanor gets registered as standoffish and aloof. To seem suave at a social event takes me days to mentally prepare. To be good at small talk only by imitating others.
@WyoYana The sweetest fruit is the one saved for a chosen hand. Desire held in patience becomes devotion, and restraint is the language of love that needs no words.
"you don't owe anyone anything" You are a tar pit. Speak for yourself. I personally owe the cafe employees my dishes put away and my friends a listening ear and small scared insects a cup and a gentle trip outside. Hyperindividualism is a rancid infection borne of capitalism and willfully misinterpreted therapyspeak and I will defy it by continuing to be kind regardless of whether or not it benefits me personally
