Our work on the self organization principles of stem cell derived embryos is finally published in Nature Cell Biology @NatureCellBio, special thanks to my supervisor @ZernickaGoetz, and wonderful collaborators @jake_cs_, Matt Thomson, @JoachimDeJonghe

@s_lefkopoulos @drDJVDavid It was fun and incredible to stumble upon my cover image with two NCB editors while scrolling through twitter. I had no idea where this image is 😅
Back to my home country today, I feel extremely lucky to be trained in @MZG_Lab as a postdoc and to be supported by my supervisors @ZernickaGoetz and @dmooreglover, thanks for all you have done for me, I have learned a lot from you and many other talented colleagues in the lab.
@AMartinezArias@dmooreglover@Richard_She@ZernickaGoetz Thank you Alfonso. We were working hard to improve the robustness of those systems, trying to understand different factors that can contribute to this self-organization process, and aiming to push those embryoids into different applications in a high throughput manner.
We also discuss the power of stem-cell based models of early mammalian development in addressing problems of patterning and morphogenesis in our recent review https://t.co/V9twH7Vnum

I have the fortune to witness the development of the 1st version ETX by Berna and Gian to 2nd version ETiX by Gian and then EiTiX by Kasey, I have witnessed how they developed these stories and how excited they were when they presented on the lab meeting these incredible results!
After building embryoids for 10 years, we succeeded in generating structures with brains, hearts, neural tubes, somites with a yolk sac. Both original submissions using two different approaches are on BioRxiv, to be published soon. https://t.co/p1ZL2C3UPH
I have always been fascinated by the beauty of life forms, and I believe this study will provide an unprecedented chance to advance our understandings of life formation, as it solidly demonstrated “life” can be formed solely from stem cells.
