"Haile Selassie": When Ras Tafari was crowned Emperor of Ethiopia in 1930, he took the name Haile Selassie, which means "Might of the Trinity" in Amharic.

During the Italian occupation, Haile Selassie went into exile. He lived in England during this period and played a key role in rallying support for Ethiopia's liberation. He returned to Ethiopia in 1941 after the defeat of the Italian forces.

Haile Selassie is considered a messianic figure in the Rastafari movement, which emerged in Jamaica in the 1930s. Rastafarians believe that he is the returned messiah, and they regard him with great reverence.
