Enjoy a #PinkRibbonBagel in October and help in the fight against #breastcancer. For every ribbon bagel purchased at a participating @panerabread cafe, Panera will donate a portion of the proceeds to benefit our breast cancer nurse navigation fund. Donate: https://t.co/ELy9yG5lmX
“Historically, 20-40% of #breastcancer patients develop #lymphedema. We have dramatically reduced that number to 6% through research studies and #clinicaltrials that have real-life benefits for #patients.” - @DrJWagner, breast surgeon #KUWCC
Unfortunately, family doctors have been misinformed by the @cantaskforce about screening. They've understated the benefits, and exaggerated harms. They've ignored the risks of dense breast tissue. Women need accurate modern data to make informed decisions about their health.

A review of more than 170,000 screening #mammograms determined #DBT did a better job at accurately detecting cancers in women of all ages. The advantages were most pronounced for women in their 40s. Read more: https://t.co/c8xQRpxQ9O
Dr. Wendie Berg, Chief Scientific Advisor of @DenseBreastInfo discusses Personalized and Supplemental Screening @CanadaSBI in Quebec City. Half of fatal breast cancers are diagnosed by age 49. We have to start screening @40not50 !
New recs call for annual screening beginning at age 40 for women w/ average risk & continue as long as the woman remains in good health w/ an average life expectancy of 10+ years. We commend @ASBrS for putting the lives of women first & applaud their efforts to #endtheconfusion.
"We're not saving any money by reducing the screening guidelines that have been working for us for the past several years. We're actually going to be spending more money and losing lives and how much is every life worth?" @ToulaSdestounis https://t.co/rPwFrdQwey #endtheconfusion
Let’s be clear - if you want to save the most lives possible - if you want to find a #breastcancer before you have symptoms - if you prefer less extensive surgery & treatment - get a #mammogram every year @40not50 or even earlier if you are higher risk. #EndtheConfusion
