@playtowinmtg Personally I like this one. I just want to clone/blink him and never reach my next upkeep so the downside won't matter. But it will probably matter a lot I'm afraid :D
The cEDH European Championship in Lisbon was amazing! ๐ต๐น Next finals: Germany ๐ฉ๐ช More info soon, but you can qualify at Ballon Con 4 (Feb 15, 2025, Landsberg). Get your tickets here ๐๏ธโฌ๏ธ
@hatebearsMTG There is a separate Rog/Thras discord, but they are dedicated only to the Polymorph plan. Besides that there is a relatively active Rog/Thras channel on the "Colors are a crutch" discord that focuses more on various creature combos.

@ryan041697@playtowinmtg As someone who thought about this a lot and also has done real life testing I can say: The max points a 1-3 can have is then 1176.38. The lowest a 2-2 can have is 1190.91 points. It is mathematically impossible for a 1-3 to be above a 2-2 in the japanese System.
@Zrob0@FredagMandag@LemorasCards I'm not saying you make things up. I believe you, that something messed up happened. But even in the most extrem cases, the WWLL would have 1215.44 and the LLLW would have 1176.38 (see table below). It must be human error on the TO part and not a problem of the system per se.
@FredagMandag@Zrob0@LemorasCards I think the lowest a 2-2 can get is ~1190, but that's still above the 1176, that a 1-3 can get at most. And that extrem case could only occur in an event with a lot of players, where there would be more rounds to play anyways.
@kenlikescarbs We used a slightly changed version in one of our events and are using an even further changed one in an upcoming event. I think it's exciting to experiment with and I'm thankful for our players, that dare to go that way with us.
@MTRA_IPGA @CptMoralSupport I encourage you to take a look here: https://t.co/DMBRfcRo5g
That may clear some confusion and is better than short twitter exchanges.
It's a well maintained document and getting in contact with @fbatista about this topic is always a good idea.
@MTRA_IPGA @CptMoralSupport No, they can't just kill someone and then ID the MATCH in Portugal. Portugal's and your new ruling are not that much different. All 4 players have to agree to ID the MATCH. With the ruling from Portugal, 3 players can draw the GAME and start a new one again with all 4 players.
@MTRA_IPGA @CptMoralSupport Something very similar has been standard procedure in Portugal for some time now. They neatly differentiate between Game and Match. Commander matches are not BO1, but first-to-1. If players ID a game, they can start another game, as long as there is still time left in the round.
@SethArar@HigherMTG @CombatStep @MTRA_IPGA @BorosBaldy @IBlameMax @TheBG_D Can you tell me a couple of events that are on edhtop16, that have used these rulings?
@callahanishere No. of swiss rounds in 1v1 are based on no. of rounds a single elimination style would need. It gurantees at most one player can have perfect score. Based on that we do enough rounds in cEDH. The generous top cut could be a problem. People are safe way too early.
@cuzack@BornHurt@Zrob0@CallMeBean By that logic, you can encounter the "DGrid, pass" squad early on, loose and then be systematically be paired against them for the rest of the event. Current system puts more emphasis on the first round, whether your whole tournament will be great or awful (based on your logic).
