The market, like the Lord, helps those who help themselves. But unlike the Lord, the market does not forgive those who do not know what they are doing.
"For what it's worth, it's never too late or, in my case, too early to be whoever you want to be ... I hope you live a life you're proud of. If you find that you're not, I hope you have the strength to start all over again." —F. Scott Fitzgerald
JPMorgan CEO Jamie Dimon gave 15 years to Citigroup and got fired - he called his wife first so the kids would be ready: "the youngest one said - Dad, do we have to sleep on the streets?"
this is him explaining the phone call he made to that boss a year later, the mistake he admits was his own, and the day his own hires walked in and told him to give up his pay too
"my net worth was not my self worth. I had to remind myself of that"
"I called him a year later. I was wrong for Citigroup at that point. I acknowledged my own mistakes"

An MIT professor just explained why the number e is hiding inside almost every serious exponential calculation.
Most people memorize:
d/dx eˣ = eˣ
Almost nobody asks why.
The professor starts with a harder question: what happens when you differentiate aˣ?
The answer turns out to be:
d/dx aˣ = (ln a)aˣ
And that mysterious extra factor, ln a, is exactly why base e is special.
For e, the factor becomes 1.
So the derivative of the function is the function itself.
But then he goes further.
Take:
(1 + 1/n)ⁿ
As n approaches infinity, the expression approaches e.
That means e isn't just some random calculator constant.
It is the unique base where growth and its rate of growth become the same thing.
And once you understand that, calculus starts looking very different.
Wednesday Career talk:
A first degree is not a job title and a second qualification need not stay in the same field.
You can study Psychology then computing, or study Engineering then finance, or perhaps Education then cybersecurity. These combinations are not confusion. They are distinction 👌🏾
The world is hiring people who can move across disciplines, not people waiting for a vacancy that matches the name on one certificate.
Make sure you build a unique stack and then offer it where it is needed.

In 1939, a graduate student named George Dantzig arrived late to his statistics class at UC Berkeley. Two problems were already written on the blackboard when he walked in.
Assuming they were the night’s homework, he copied them down and went home to work through them. It took him several days longer than usual, and he apologized to his professor for the delay.
His professor, Jerzy Neyman — one of the most respected statisticians of his time — didn’t scold him. He was stunned into silence. The two problems Dantzig had casually solved as homework were actually famous unsolved theorems in statistics, ones that had stumped professional mathematicians for years.
One of Dantzig’s solutions was prepared for publication almost immediately. He later admitted that if he’d known those problems were supposed to be impossible, he probably never would have attempted them at all.
Sometimes the only thing standing between a person and the impossible is simply not being told it can’t be done.

“I will be honest with you, I am someone who wants efficiency, I want goals and clean sheets.
“But in the same time, like I just said to my boy, I said ‘come here, my boy it’s 2-0, just enjoy your football. I don’t have nothing else to say, just enjoy your football’.
“And sometimes you need to give this freedom to these boys, even I will be honest with you, climbing on the ball, stuff like that, when it’s 0-0 or draw, I don’t like.
“But when we are three goals or four goals, I have to integrate myself in the culture of the country and sometimes to leave them the freedom.”
You have to fall in love with her in different versions. The young her, the tired her, the pregnant her, the ambitious her, the difficult her, the woman she becomes with time. That’s the real secret.
STUDY HARD.
No matter if it seems impossible.
No matter if it takes time.
Wake up early and start studying for your future.
Just remember that the feeling of success is the best feeling in the world.
In 1964, Richard Feynman stood at a Cornell blackboard and explained the exact problem every AI lab in the world is fighting today.
