London ✈️ NYC
Made it in time for Tony Awards... hosted at VERS by two queens giving exceptional 🌶️ commentary.
And a full venue sing-along to Rocky Horror. I've missed New York.
Just watched a bit of the Tony awards and they did "The Time Warp" from Rocky Horror. Oh how I loved going to that movie in my late teens and early 20s. And bless me, 45 years on, the 'muscle memory' from seeing it so often was still there, because I -- like everyone else in the audience (albeit I was in front of my television at home) -- yelled out "SAY IT!" when Frank N. Furter paused between "Antici".....and......"pation". And sang every word of the song. Glorious. #RockyHorror #Tonys
Loving the standing O for Joshua Henry! His fellow nominees were standing up before his full name was out. And that suit is amazing, worthy of Coleman Domingo.
@956GymCult I think the Tony's allow me, an every day person who listens to musicals and who may plan to see a Broadway tour or a trip to New York an opportunity to see what's out there and where to put my energy. Also as an avid theatre lover, it's a celebration of community and art.
@956GymCult@fullerkathy1 15 million people/year go to NYC to see a Broadway show. 16M saw touring productions in 115 cities last year. Plus regional & educational theater. The American Theatre Wing supports and awards all that, too.
Does Tony viewership skew upscale? Sure. But not all, but any stretch.
