I witnessed the expansion and contraction of this space first hand. There was a tweet years ago calling Pepe something to the extent of a “laggard of a bygone era”, as if that were bearish. The era where coins wouldn’t die because someone decided to sell 100 sol of it on stream. That era was one of the most bountiful eras in the history of this space.

Regular, every day people had their life changed by this coin. The amount of DM’s I got saying “you paid for my wedding” or “I paid off my student debt” was in the hundreds. I had maybe 5k followers.

A 30 million dollar hack would kill most of the coins in this new era. That is Pandora’s box. The frog has shown that it has more lives than any cat. They just don’t make them like they used to, and maybe that’s for the better.
