Congrats to all! Come see our latest work on constructing E/Z-selective chiral a-vinyl phosphonates! I especially like that we investigated the mechanism of how photocatalyst activates vinyl bromide as well as inducing the E/Z selectivity with its triplet state energy.
Application of Computational Tools to Understanding Organic and Organometallic Reactions
Happening in two weeks! Please register if you want to hear about my stories of crossing different time zones to become a chemist and our exploration in the field https://t.co/LncrDRadQQ
Also thank you to @Chem_CP for the invitation, it’s truly a great pleasure to share with the readers about our exploration in the field of metallaphotoredox catalysis and my personal stories in pursuing a PhD degree in United States.
THRILLED to share the latest in print! I was lucky to meet a great mentor and many nice friends who support me through this PhD journey. Definitely learnt a lot in the last five years, from being a good researcher to exploring what I really want in life. https://t.co/9LPaJYnhbL
@gutierrez_lab Thank you for your awesome mentorship throughout these years, Osvaldo! Definitely one of the best choices I made to join your group in 2017!
It began in my last year of PhD in @gutierrez_lab (still remembered thinking it as a “quick” add-on project), yet it’s thrilled to see how our amazing collaborators @balu_dherange @LevinChem @ckellzchem@JanssenUS expanded it into such a great one! Collaborations rock!
Beyond excited to share our latest collaboration work on the “direct deaminative functionalization” just came out in @J_A_C_S ! Following our last work, we studied in detail the HAT step and the polarity matching effect with computation. https://t.co/sfRkAutgRt
And of course, consistent with our last collaboration, we explored the enantioselectivity of the C-C bond formation with Ni catalyst 😎 Spoiler alert, the directing group plays an unexpected role of controlling the C-centered radical approaching the metal center!
Congrats to all! Come see our latest work on constructing E/Z-selective chiral a-vinyl phosphonates! I especially like that we investigated the mechanism of how photocatalyst activates vinyl bromide as well as inducing the E/Z selectivity with its triplet state energy.
BREAKING NEWS:
The Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences has decided to award the 2022 #NobelPrize in Chemistry to Carolyn R. Bertozzi, Morten Meldal and K. Barry Sharpless “for the development of click chemistry and bioorthogonal chemistry.”
Thanks for the amazing party and the beautiful cake!! Definitely one of the best decisions I have made to join the group in 2017! (Before: What your advisor wanted the manuscript to be; after: how you think about writing the first draft)
