@mikesully97@tomloveless99 My students show growth every year with drill practice. I will forever use it. It helps with grit and start to finish stamina. The kids sit with me in small group until they show they are not giving up.
@Beanie0597@andrew_koenig True that it has to be enforced! Once Indiana changed its laws for cell phone use, the students have done MUCH better with keeping them in their lockers or lock boxes in teachers’ classrooms. See one? We take it to the front office and a parent has to come pick it up. 👍
@thycalmetrinity@charliekirk11 As a teacher, I see the benefit for differentiation and using teachers as facilitators in the space. Large class sizes make it difficult for teachers to plan for so many students’ unique needs.
@hieb_ali@libsoftiktok I will go ahead and add that class sizes are very large. I taught in a general education classroom last year with only 15 students and the growth was amazing! Obviously more one on one attention when students are behind MATTERS!
Based on my experience with general education classes and high ability (on/above grade level) classes, there is definitely a difference in parent responsiveness and involvement. There is also something there about most to all students working together to support each other with their educational goals. There are few disruptions, if any, in the classroom. This allows me to spend more time teaching, adding enrichment, and for students to problem solve together.
Or when you DO reach someone, the children are screaming in the background or the dogs are barking, Occasionally I get the “one moment, please” while he or she goes to take care of the family.
I am not attempting to shame family care, but this has been such a strange shift for me.
@shaunmmaguire I always wait until I see everyone else’s reactions to iPhone updates before I do them anymore. I am so glad I have not run the update yet!
@RaeRaeSloan8@AutismCapital I had to watch a video about this so I could fix it. I do not remember for the life of me what I ended up doing. It was a big problem and no one seemed to have an answer.
Proud to say, I just completed the Quizizz Game Changer Certification! Quizizz is just amazing! 🤩
They just launched the ability to create activities directly aligned to state standards, which is so amazing! https://t.co/8wWcC9xil7 #edtech#youcanwithquizizz@AlanaColabella
@HEC_ED@IndyGoBus I have spent time looking at the mystop app to see if there are ways to get to different places using public transit. I am right off Tenth street, which helps. I just wish there was a bus that went farther south toward Raymond St. on the Eastside.
