Trump is sending ships in June to remove over 900 deep-sea instruments from the Atlantic and Pacific, dismantling a $368 million monitoring network built over a decade that was meant to last 25 years. It will be dismantled in just 15 months.
Basil Rathbone and Nigel Bruce were close friends off screen as well as on.
Rathbone referred to Bruce as the "quintessential Dr. Watson" and said (rightfully) that his Dr. Watson was one of the "screen's most lovable characters.”
@ianbremmer That may be true but there isn’t any existing law you can invoke to prevent US companies from selling or renting their software to Americans.
Inflation is growing worse, and the president is fixated on all the wrong things - building a ballroom, making himself immune from audits, and waging a war he started without a plan to end it.
Where is the Republican plan to make life more affordable in America?
@JoeW1ley@Noahpinion The last time we were this close to insolvency was in the ‘80s. Ronald Reagan and Tip O’Neill got together to change the law and solve the problem, but it required benefit cuts and tax increases.
@Noahpinion We went through this before and came up with a solution that everyone could live with, and that pushed back insolvency by half a century. We just need to bring back Ronald Reagan and Tip O’Neill to solve it again for another 50 years
For 30 years I've tried to correct this nonsense. The vast majority will not listen. There has to be a villain - some evil politicians who stole all their money. Some easy solution (raise the cap!) they aren't telling us. Its conspiracy theories all the way down because "were getting screwed" political victimology is easier than accepting that we've promised ourselves more benefits than the economy can deliver at the tax rates we expect.
@PikettyWIL You’re saying that we need to virtually stop economic growth in my country. Why would I do that, and why would I vote for anyone who wants that? Try living in the real world.
@MaryLTrump As someone once said: Donald Trump is a poor man's idea of a rich man, a weak man's idea of a strong man, and a stupid man's idea of a smart man.
