@letonyo Perhaps math was the *bottleneck* of the field? I hope the new era of quantum info and any other science to come where we can do work more about finding new interesting things without spending much time on complicated math details.
This is a very cool and exciting discovery by Claude Mythos!
It found a serious 𝒎𝒂𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒎𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒄𝒂𝒍 attack on the post-quantum signature scheme HAWK, an "on-ramp" candidate for potential NIST standardization.
I'm happy to see the unclonable encryption problem solved; Prabhanjan Ananth and Amit Sahai report their findings, with the help of the UCLA harness (link below). This was a challenge for the quantum crypto community for the last 6 years.

Quantum computers are usually presented as a threat to cryptocurrencies.
Cryptographically relevant quantum computers would break many assumptions used today.
But there is also a longer-term, more optimistic possibility:
Quantum cryptography may improve cryptocurrencies.
A decade ago, I abandoned the first math problem my PhD advisor ever gave me.
This week, I finally solved it—and formally verified it—using @AnthropicAI's Claude Code, @OpenAI's Codex, and @HarmonicMath's Aristotle.
Here’s how AI turned my 10-year-old notes into a 15,000-line Lean 4 proof. 🧵

It's becoming increasingly clear that gpt5 can solve MINOR open math problems, those that would require a day/few days of a good PhD student. Ofc it's not a 100% guarantee, eg below gpt5 solves 3/5 optimization conjectures. Imo full impact of this has yet to be internalized...
If you’ve ever moved into a new home, then you know how difficult it can be to steer bulky furniture through narrow hallways or around awkward corners. A new proof reveals the biggest shape that can slide down an L-shaped hallway. Richard Green reports: https://t.co/i3HXI0iTmo
@aporemba_@henryquantum@letonyo Thanks, and sorry for reviving an old thread. Is the paper you mentioned tight regarding the seed length? I feel it should be, but I can't find a simple argument or an explicit mention in the paper.
