@sdho @jonnymalarkus False. Taking away lanes backs up traffic, forcing frustrated drivers onto side streets. High traffic on side streets is much more dangerous for pedestrians, cyclists and kids.
Like I said, I seen it every day after you and your friends decided to reduce lanes on 66th

@sdho @jonnymalarkus Stop being drama.I’ve ridden my bike all over Bloomington, Richfield and S. Mpls for decades. Is there a few places at busy areas that need better crossings or even another pedestrian bridge needed? Sure.But taking away vehicle lanes for the double wide bike lanes is ridiculous

All you’re doing is forcing frustrated drivers to the side streets (like is happening on 67th)…that’s not safe.

@jonnymalarkus @sdho Sure. Next time I see a bike avoiding the bike lane and driving on the street instead, I’ll go and drive on the ridiculously wide bike/pedestrian lane. Shouldn’t be a problem because they’re literally empty.

@sdho @jonnymalarkus It’s selfish when they can use the side streets with no “dead-end” or especially when they use the vehicle lanes instead of the bike lanes provided. Especially during rush hours!
A busy intersection like Nicollet & 66th is not “more favorable” than a less busy side street🤷‍♂️

@MNModerate2028 @sdho @kar_nels They created more traffic jams on 66th and dangerous traffic on the side streets because people have learned 67th is a good bypass. All created in the name of “safety”. Complete lunacy.
And let’s not forget they want to add MORE apartments in the area, which means MORE traffic🤡

@MNModerate2028 @sdho @kar_nels There’s State law and then there’s common sense/ situational awareness. I could understand if there wasn’t room to expand the lane. That’s not the case. They were just obsessed with having bike lanes (BTW there’s bike & walking lanes on both sides) and medians for the crosswalks

@MNModerate2028 @sdho @kar_nels They also failed to realize if there’s a lot of traffic on 66th, emergency vehicles can’t get through in the 66th & Elliot area because of the giant medians and narrow lanes. BTW This all was brought up before construction…

@MNModerate2028 @sdho @kar_nels Yup the voters definitely disagree with me too🤪 it’s sad because now 67th from Nicollet to 12th is used as a bypass from the backed up traffic on 66th. I told them that’s what would happen when you reduced the lanes. Now 67th is more dangerous for pedestrians etc.
