In this historic image, the moons Europa and Io are captured against the backdrop of Jupiter’s Great Red Spot. The scale is impressive: the giant storm—which has been raging on the gas giant for centuries—could easily swallow the entire Earth, while the passing moons vividly illustrate the colossal size of the Solar System's largest planet.

No one, presently, sees the Moon rotate like this.

That's because the Earth's moon is tidally locked to the Earth, showing us only one side.

However, the Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter has this view: a full Moon rotation.
