Joint Operation Targets Commercial Vehicles

Yesterday, the Wichita County Sheriff’s Office Patrol and Commercial Vehicle Units joined forces with the Texas Department of Public Safety Weights and Measures Units and the Electra Police Department for a major enforcement operation.

The results were significant:
132 total traffic stops
93 commercial vehicle stops
109 equipment violations issued by DPS
15 truck/trailer combinations impounded
1 cab impounded
24 individuals detained for being unlawfully present in the United States

Agency detention totals:
WCSO: 19
Electra PD: 4
DPS: 1

Those detained were from Mexico, India, Cuba, Algeria, Venezuela, Tajikistan, and Russia.
