Am văzut cap-coadă documentarul Recorder despre justiție. Cel mai simplu este să ne revoltăm, încă o dată, și să aruncăm vina generic. Mai greu este chiar să rezolvăm problemele din justiție.

În primul rând, felicitări realizatorilor, care aduc în dezbaterea publică, într-un mod accesibil publicului, probleme importante.

În al doilea rând, nu vreau să scuz în vreun fel politicul. Faptul că lupta anticorupție s-a redus dramatic are influență politică. Numirile procurorilor-șefi au fost politice. Societatea vorbește de mult de probleme în justiție fără să vedem, la nivelul Ministerului Justiției, voință de a intra cu adevărat în ele.

Dar soluția la problemele ridicate este tot în interiorul sistemului de justiție. Cazurile prezentate trebuie investigate și trebuie investigată mai ales recurența acestor cazuri. Iar persoanele vinovate trebuie pedepsite, însă tot de sistemul de justiție, și pe bază de probe. Pentru că materialul Recorder prezintă și fapte, care sunt clare, dar și opinii, care trebuie probate.

Cine strânge probele și cine face sesizările?
De ce nu avem încă un raport din interiorul sistemului de justiție, deși se vorbește de lucrurile astea de mult timp?
Câte sesizări s-au făcut din interiorul sistemului de justiție pe faptele de care vorbim?
Câte acțiuni în justiție s-au făcut pe faptele de care vorbim?
De ce sunt doar trei magistrați în activitate care au acceptat să vorbească deschis cu reporterii?

De ce nu a contracandidat-o nimeni pe Lia Savonea la conducerea Înaltei Curți?

Așa cum am spus, am început să lucrăm la un raport cu date despre problemele din sistemul de justiție. Discutăm cu magistrați. Îi invit pe toți magistrații să îmi scrie direct despre problemele pe care le întâmpină și îi asigur că voi citi personal ce îmi transmit.

Dar trebuie și o asumare în interiorul profesiei. Sunt convins că marea majoritate a magistraților sunt oameni serioși, de bună-credință.

E responsabilitatea lor, dincolo de dosarele curente, să se implice în rezolvarea problemelor profesiei lor. Și îi asigur, la rândul meu, de implicare și bună-credință pentru a aduce justiția acolo unde și-o doresc românii.

Why I am voting for Nicusor Dan for president of Romania on May 19th:

I have been living in Bucharest for exactly 20 years, about the same time he has been an activist against corruption and illegal construction in the city.

Before he was elected Mayor in 2020, Bucharest was a corrupt cesspit that was falling apart. A series of mayors who did not care about improving people's lives and who turned city hall into a rubber stamp for real estate developers.

Dan, as the leader of the Save Bucharest association fought multiple administrations in an effort to preserve Bucharest's historical heritage... you know, like an actual patriot.

When he got elected mayor he inherited a city that was going bankrupt, public utility infrastructure that hadn't been updated since the 1960s in some cases, and a hostile city council.

In the 5 years he was there, he balanced the budget and started a massive update of public infrastructure.

He took the very unpopular but brave move of leaving some districts temporarily without utilities in order to update them ... replacing those pipes from the 60s

He cracked down on speculative and chaotic zoning plans that had led to overdevelopment and loss of green spaces. Initiated the development of a comprehensive General Urban Plan to guide sustainable city growth.

He drew on European funding to finance the city's improvement.

He also managed, as an independent, to work with a politically diverse city admin that tried to stifle him at first.

Bucharest today is cleaner, greener, more modern and better to spend time in as well as having what is left of its historical heritage protected.

The city is also safer that it was 20 years ago. You can walk anywhere day or night without fear of something happening to you.

In fact, the only time I was worried for my safety in Bucharest in over 10 years was a few months ago durring the russian backed pro-Georgescu rallies.

He will make a good president because of his commitment to transparency and fighting corruption, both as an activist and as mayor and because he wants a prosperous Romania that is a member of the EU.
